For the past three years Frank Warren has invited people of all backgrounds and nationalities to send him creatively decorated postcards bearing secrets they have never before revealed. He has shared these PostSecrets on his award-winning blog, PostSecret.com

In his latest book A Lifetime of Secrets he shows us a never-before-seen selection of provocative and moving PostSecrets, laying bare our private fears, hopes, regrets, and desires, from people as young as eight to as old as eighty.

Frank Warren started PostSecret.com as a community art project. Since November 2004 he has received more than 150,000 anonymous postcards. The website won two Webby Awards in 2006 and this year was named Weblog of the Year at the Seventh Annual Weblog Awards. The PostSecret project also received a special award from the National Mental Health Association for raising awareness and funds for suicide prevention.

To send secrets to PostSecrets.com, decide on an item to be the postcard, which can be anything mailable as long as it is 4″x6″ in size. Write the secret on one side. If you want to add an image, that is ok also, just make sure the image is on the same side of the postcard as the secret you are sending in. Secrets should be brief, no one wants to read a long, drawn out post. Your writing must be legible, what good is telling the secret if no one can read your writing? Lastly, try to make your secret sharing creative.

When you have created your secret postcard, mail it to PostSecret, 13345 Copper Ridge Road, Germantown, Maryland, 20874 then visit www.postsecret.com on Sunday to see if you made it.
